Kelly Cross (STEP Fellow) - How to Excel in Excel
Can Excel enhance my STEM lesson? Data, Stats, and Graphs; Oh My! Come see how Excel can be used in your les¬son. The class will start with examples of statistical analysis such as linear regression and standard deviation of common scientific data. Another example will cover Chi-Square of biological data and the T-Test of data points. Next I will demonstrate graphing capabilities of Excel such as bar and pie graphs. Blogging for Educators: Teaching and Learning Using Web 2.0 Tools
This interactive, hands-on session provides teachers with an overview of Web 2.0 tools. It focuses on ideas for using blogs for classroom instruction and how to connect with educators around the world to learn about current best practices. Teachers will learn how to set up a blog, practice posting and interacting with other educators, and work on exercises that are suitable for use in their own classrooms.

Regina Lamendella-Leudeker (STEP Fellow) - Sketchpad
Today, Sketchpad is one of the most widely-used educational technologies for teaching mathematics. In this technology workshop we will use Sketchpad software to build and investigate mathematical models, objects, figures, diagrams, and graphs. We will also explore how to use sketchpad to generate teaching aids such as, worksheets, tests, reports, pre¬sentation, and accurate figures. This workshop will conclude with an exploration of the library of sketchpad activities that teachers may wish to incorporate into their curricula.

Fee Mtshiya (STEP Fellow) - Interactive Classrooms
This workshop is geared towards the teacher who wants to use interactive educational software to enhance classroom instruction and create a dynamic engaging classroom atmosphere. Participants will learn how to use the TurningPoint Audience response system in order to build assessments and gather student achievement data. The system can be coupled with Microsoft Power Point and gives students the opportunity to actively participate in presentations, discussions and lectures by submit¬ting responses to questions using a ResponseCard keypad or other handheld/computer device.
