Biography
It is a privilege to work as the STEP Grant Coordinator for the University of Cincinnati. In this position,
I look forward to using my teaching skills to help others. My academic background revolves around schools.
I have attended school or taught school continuously since 1976. I have a B.S. degree in Science Education
from the University of Central Florida with a minor in Biology. I have a M.S. degree in Science Education from
Florida State University. Over a course of 12 years, I taught grades 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 in Florida and Virginia.
Subjects that I have taught include: Earth science, biology, integrated science, physical science, research methods,
and algebra. One of my fondest teaching memories was my nomination for teacher of the year at a high school where the
students voted for that honor. Recently I have been a lecturer for courses at Northern Kentucky University. Currently
I am enrolled as a doctoral student at the University of Cincinnati working towards an EdD in Curriculum and Instruction
(specialization in teaching school subjects/science education). My research interests include beginning teachers and the
influences on them. I enjoy time away from school with my husband, son, and daughter.
