Dr. Shearn's research interests include understanding the normal forces and motions in the knee, development of tissue engineered materials for repair and replacement of ligaments and tendons; and development of bioreactors to grow tissue engineered repairs. Publications include 1 book chapter, 13 refereed publications, and 20 proceedings publications. In 2007, Dr. Shearn was a part of a research team that received the Ann Doner Vaughn Kappa Delta Award from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
