Biography
Debbie Kinne is the coordinator for the NSF STEP project. She is currently
a doctoral candidate and will begin collecting her dissertation data during
the summer of 2003. She will graduate from the University of Cincinnati
with an EdD in curriculum and instruction, with emphasis in science education
and technology. Before enrolling as a graduate student at the University
of Cincinnati, Debbie taught chemistry, physics, and physical science
for five years in both private and public high schools. While she has
been at the University of Cincinnati, she has been a graduate assistant
for the department of Teacher Education and worked in the College of Education
Dean’s Office with the primary responsibility of working on the
National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. In addition,
she has taught several courses including Computer Tools for Teachers,
Instructional Technology, Field Practicum Experiences, and Instructional
Planning. In addition to working throughout her graduate school experience,
she is also the president of the Graduate Education Association and has
been a member of several; college and university committees. She brings
several years of experience with science education to the program in addition
to her familiarity with the university, college of education, teachers,
and students.
