Mr. Simonson coordinates all the outreach activities of the project. In particular he coordinates the summer programs, including the Family Science Academy, Summer Institute, and the Bridge Program in which the Fellows participate as teaching assistants and organize a student-parent competition for the Family Science Academy. Mr. Simonson has replaced Dr. Edward Prather after his retirement from UC. Mr. Simonson joined UC as the Assistant Director of the E3 Program in 1989, was promoted to the Director's position in 1996, and to Director of Academics in 2001. Mr. Simonson has 17 years of experience in developing and implementing programs that improve the academic success and retention of minority engineering students.
