Dr. Richard A. Miller (Principal Investigator)
Professor Email: richard.miller@uc.edu Dr. Miller teaches undergraduate and graduate structural analysis, design, and materials. He introduced the Freshman Introduction to CE course in which he provides the experience of 'engineering in action' through special team projects. He is participating in a 3-year (1999-2002), $450,000, grant from General Electric to evaluate how instructional technologies impact the learning process for students with different learning styles and personality types. He has obtained funding for 17 external research grants for a total of $2,485,666. He has published 21 journal articles, 2 book chapters, 12 conference proceeding papers, 11 technical reports, and given 32 conference presentations. He has supervised 1 Ph.D. and 6 M.S. thesis students to completion, and is currently advising 1 Ph.D. and 2 M.S. students.
