Summary
Students explore self chosen careers and the components of those careers over a three day time period. Each day is designed to stem from discussion and exploration. The second day, students participate in a field trip to the University to get first hand knowledge of careers and needed traits from career centers at the University to become successful post-secondary students. The third day students are post-assessed and discussion surrounds the changing views and significant discoveries made by students.
Objectives
Students will be able to:
• Think about future career interest with accurate background information about that career.
• Reflect about future career interest in a meaningful manner.
• Research statistical information for careers using the Internet.
• Analyze data about their careers to make educated decisions.
• Relate their future career of interest to science and engineering.
