Rowe Center for Women in Engineering
The Rowe Center provides a focal point for woman engineering students to access supports for success in classes, on co-op work assignments and beyond. The Center coordinates with existing programs in the College of Engineering, the University, and the broader community to support students through:
- Mentoring by upper class students and by women engineers in business.
- Tutoring and working in peer study groups to enhance study skills.
- Networking with other campus women's groups, local business women's groups, and in national programs for women in scientific and technical fields.
- Special programs designed to build both professional and life skills such as team dynamics, business communications, goal setting, time management, international business etiquette, stress management, and personal safety.
- Service opportunities such as outreach to elementary, middle, and high school girls to encourage and inform about careers in engineering
- Fun and friendship by participating in sports and cultural events, field trips, and other extracurricular activities.
