College Scholarships
Strong financial support in the form of scholarships and student loans
is available to incoming freshman students. Scholarships and student loans
are available throughout the undergraduate years. Emphasis is placed on
financial support during the freshman and senior years. Students generally
earn sufficient money during the three co-op years (sophomore, pre-junior
and junior) to help pay for tuition, room and board.

College Scholarships
The College of Engineering makes scholarship awards based on student
performance records. A partial list of available funds appears below. No
applications are required for these scholarships.
L. W. Scott Alter Scholarship. An endowment fund established
by Mrs. L. W. Scott Alter to provide scholarships for worthy students in
the College of Engineering.
Mabel and Frank Boettger Scholarship. An endowment fund
established by Mabel Boettger to fund scholarships for Aerospace Engineering
students.
William Climer Cobb. An endowment fund established by
William H. and Jane F. Cobb to help worthy undergraduate students.
Norma Wellman Cobb Scholarship Fund. An endowment fund
established in memory of Norma Wellman Cobb by her brother Albert J. Wellman,
to be awarded to women engineering students.
Charles E. Constable Scholarship Fund. An endowment to
fund varying numbers of undergraduate scholarships to students in the College
of Engineering.
College of Engineering Alumni Scholarship. An annual scholarship
awarded to a graduating senior who demonstrates well-rounded abilities.
The College of Engineering Dean's Scholarship. Awarded
to the most outstanding applicant in the freshman class.
Roscoe and Miriam Dyson Memorial Scholarship Fund. An
endowment established to provide a varying number of scholarships to undergraduate
students having financial need and scholastic ability.
A.E. Focke Scholarship Fund. An annual scholarship established
by the Cincinnati Chapter of the American Society of Metals to recognize
a graduate student in Material Science.
Robert S. Goebel Endowment Fund. An endowment to fund
a number of scholarships to students in the College of Engineering.
Doris Harlow Memorial Scholarship. For undergraduate women
students in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, in memory of Dr. William
Harlow's wife.
Chester J. and Lois Henry Memorial Scholarship. An endowment
fund established to award scholarships to worthy students.
The Charles and Oneida B. Herfurth Scholarship. An endowment
fund established by the estate of Charles Herfurth, ME '28, to provide
scholarships for worthy students in the College of Engineering.
Selden F. High Scholarship. An endowment fund established
by the Electrical Apparatus Service Association to provide a scholarship
to a student in Electrical Engineering.
Robert T. and Helen C. Howe. A scholarship awarded annually
to the graduating senior in Civil Engineering who has made the greatest
progress.
Clair Hulley Scholarships. An endowment fund established
by Clair Hulley for Mechanical and Industrial Engineering students.
The Carl J. Kiefer Memorial Scholarships. Scholarships
for entering freshmen.
Karl Kiefer Scholarship Fund. A scholarship awarded to
a deserving student in Mechanical Engineering.
Thomas Kirby Scholarship Fund. An endowment fund to provide
scholarships for engineering students who, if possible, will study and
research soaps, oils and related products.
Colonel Carl J. Koenig Scholarship Fund. An annual scholarship
awarded to a student in Chemical Engineering who is also enrolled in ROTC.
Koppers Company Scholarships. Several scholarships are
available to upperclass women and minorities in the Departments of Chemical
and Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, and Electrical
and Computer Engineering.
Frank B. Kroeger Scholarship Fund. An endowment to fund
a varying number of scholarships to students in Electrical and Computer
Engineering.
J. Evans Lippincott. Scholarship for Engineering students
in memory of J. Evans Lippincott.
The Lubrizol Scholarships. Two or more scholarships awarded
annually to students in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering who have completed
one or more years of study. Offered by The Lubrizol Foundation, Cleveland,
Ohio.
Martin Marietta Scholarships. Scholarships for entering
freshmen.
M.H.P. Pat Morand Scholarship. An endowment fund established
in memory of Pat Morand to provide scholarships for students from the Bay
City, Midland, or Saginaw, Michigan area who co-op at Dow Chemical Company,
Midland, Michigan.
Ralph Nordquest Scholarship Fund. An annual scholarship
awarded to a student who maintains a 3.0 or better.
William Richard Parry Scholarship. An endowment fund established
to provide financial aid to qualified Civil Engineering students.
Sol Jay Perlman Scholarship. An annual scholarship for
a Chemical Engineering student maintaining a 3.0 GPA who is interested
in film packaging and is co-oping at DuPont's Circleville plant.
Louis J. Prues Scholarship. An annual scholarship for
students studying Civil Engineering.
Clarence I. Rossiter Memorial Scholarship. An endowment
fund to provide scholarships to worthy students in Chemical Engineering.
Peter M. Rouzitsky Memorial Scholarship. An annual scholarship
awarded to deserving students in the College of Engineering.
Warren P. Shepardson. An endowment fund established for
the Department of Aerospace Engineering by the friends and family of Warren
P. Shepardson.
Elmer Haldon Smith Scholarship. An endowment fund established
in memory of Elmer Haldon Smith to provide a scholarship to an upperclassman.
Society of Plastics Engineers Scholarship. The Miami Valley
Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers provides an annual scholarship
of $1,000 to a junior or senior student in the College of Engineering who
is interested in plastics.
Selma M. and Max W. Stecker Scholarship Fund. An endowment
fund established to assist one or more needy and talented students in Chemical
Engineering.
Joseph B. Strauss Scholarship. Several scholarships awarded
yearly to students who are members of Greek fraternities or sororities.
A.P. Streitman Memorial Scholarship. Scholarships for
incoming freshman students.
Earl J. Wheeler Memorial Scholarship. An endowment established
by the Frank Messer and Sons Foundation to provide scholarships for worthy
student in the College of Engineering.
Edward Wilson. Scholarship awarded to Civil Engineering
student in memory of Edward Adam Wilson.
Babcock and Wilcox Corporation Scholarship. Scholarships
for students with high academic achievement from funds provided by Babcock
and Wilcox Corporation.
Edward F. White Memorial Scholarship. In memory of former
professors of Mechanics and Civil Engineering.
