UC's Department of Aerospace Engineering is the second-oldest aerospace engineering department in the United States. Founded in 1929 by Bradley O. Jones, an experienced, record-setting navigator and inventor, and incorporating mandatory co-operative experience for all its undergraduates, its faculty, graduates, and research contribute in pivotal ways to future aerospace efforts and research.
