  • “Green Chemistry” in the preparation of advanced materials and chemicals,
  • “Green Engineering” in the design and application of environmental remediation processes, and
  • Environmental catalysis and chemistry,

The laboratory is equipped with various pieces of instrumentation and equipment for investigating several important technologies in environmental catalysis, nanotechnology, and green chemistry and green engineering. These include:

  • Agilent 1100 HPLC with Auto Injection for the determination and quantification of organic species in water,
  • Dionex DX 500 Ion Chromatography System for the determination and quantification of inorganic species in water,
  • Hewlett Packard 8452A Diode Array Spectrophotometer for determination and quantification of chemical species in water and other solvents,
  • Photoreactors for in situ degradation of organics in room temperature ionic liquid solvents, and
  • Equipment and designs (ovens, dip-coating devices) for the sol-gel preparation of TiO2 photocatalytic coatings and nanoparticles.
