Areas of Interest

  • Behavior of structures under seismic loads. Numerical analyses and experimentation

  • Steel and composite steel/concrete structures: numerical analysis, design and experimental testing under cyclic and dynamic conditions.

  • Partially restrained beam-to-column connections: numerical modeling, development of innovative approaches for the simulation.

  • Nonlinear static and dynamic sub-assemblage and system-wide frame finite element analysis and formulations.

  • Design optimization of structures by means of genetic algorithms.

  • Field and laboratory measurements of the behavior of structures.
