College Advisory Council

Mission

The purpose of the College Advisory Council is to advise the Dean of the College of Engineering on matters relating to the College's interaction with industry and to assist the College to plan future courses of action, taking into account the views and needs of industry, other educational institutions and the profession.

Function

The role of the Council will be to assist the College with strategic insights that will ensure its success in meeting future challenges and opportunities and to stimulate interactions with industry. Members will help generate new ideas; provide critical evaluation of the management of the College's affairs; and make recommendations to the Dean on actions that will maintain the highest professional standards and improve the quality of College programs.

The Council shall also assist the Dean to:

  1. recognize technical, research and business trends
  2. gain access to the corporate community
  3. identify emerging professional requirements of industry
  4. recruit outstanding faculty and undergraduate and graduate students
  5. fund raise in collaboration with the University of Cincinnati Foundation
  6. advocate College positions
  7. enhance the image of the College nationwide

At the College Advisory Council meetings, College officials shall briefly report on the state of the College and on developments that affect the well-being of the College.
