Director

Samuel H. Huang

Dr. Huang is currently a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. He joined the department in September 2001 as an associate professor.  His previous experience includes assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Toledo, systems engineer at EDS/Unigraphics (now Siemens PLM Software), and student intern at National Institute of Standards and Technology. Dr. Huang received the B.S. degree in Instrument Engineering from Zhejiang University (P. R. China), in 1991, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas, in 1992 and 1995, respectively. He is a member of Alpha Pi Mu, SME, IEEE, and ASEE.

PhD students

Hua Li

Mr. Hua Li is currently working towards a PhD degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. Before joining the University of Cincinnati, he was a project manager of software in embedded systems area in Vtontech Co. Ltd. and previously had been a product engineer at Lenovo notebook business.  He received treceived the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering & Information Science from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2003.

Rongsheng Gong

Mr.Rongsheng Gong received his B.E. degree in Automatic Control and M.E degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering from Xiamen University(P.R.China) in 2001 and 2004 respectively. In August 2006, he received the M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.  He is currently a full-time employee of Gap and working towards his Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering part-time.

Dengyao Mo

Mr. Dengyao Mo is currently working towards a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. He received his B.E. degree in Automatic Control and M.E degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering from Xiamen University (P. R. China) in 2002 and 2005, respectively. Before joining the University of Cincinnati, he held the position of Software Engineer in Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd and Research and Development Department Manager in Xiamen Kaidi Electronic Co., Ltd.

Saurabh Sarkar

Saurabh Sarkar is pursuing a Ph.D. at University of Cincinnati. He completed his M.S. in Industrial Engineering from University of Cincinnati (2006-07) and B. Tech. in Production Engineering from Haldia Institute of Technology(2001-05) with Gold Medal for Academic performance in the department. His research interest include Data Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.

MS students

Sri Atluru

Sri Harshavardhan Atluru is currently working towards a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. He received his B.E.(Hons.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India in 2006. He is presently committed to designing and implementing a “supervisory system?as part of the SMPI Project at TechSolve Inc. and is also engaged in the study of sequential optimization techniques.

Shengzhe Jin

Shengzhe Jin is currently working towards a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. Before joining the University of Cincinnati, he was a field application engineer in Mtekvision Co. Ltd. He received his B.E. degree in Automatic Control from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2004.
