IGERT (Integrated Graduate Education, Research and Training)

The Integrated Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) program was established by the National Science Foundation to provide "future PhD scientists and engineers with the interdisciplinary background and the technical, professional, and personal skills needed to address the global questions of the future." Over 100 sites have been established at universities throughout the United States in a wide variety of academic disciplines including contemporary areas of concentration in the sciences, mathematics, engineering, and technology.
