Scholarship Program
for Out-of-State Students:

National Engineering Scholarship Program
- Assurance of a minimum $9,100 in combined UC scholarship awards!
- Renewable for 12 in-class quarters
- 40 incoming freshmen to be awarded
Qualifications & Renewability
- Complete UC admission application (including transcript and test scores) must be received by December 1st for scholarship consideration
- Open to U.S., non-Ohio residents not eligible for tuition reciprocity or tuition remission
- Student must have 3.2 minimum unweighted high school GPA (4.0 scale) to be qualified for scholarship consideration
- Renewability based on full-time enrollment in the College of Engineering and individual academic requirements of awarded funds
Time Line and Scholarship Review
- No additional scholarship application is necessary
- Student's academic information will be reviewed by the College of Engineering during the months of January and February
- Students will be evaluated based on grade point average, courses taken in high school, grades in math, ACT/SAT test scores, and rank in class
- Scholarship award letters will be sent from the University of Cincinnati, Office of Financial Aid, by April 1st
More Information about the National Engineering Scholarship Program (NESP)
- The National Engineering Scholarship Program is designated to reduce out-of-state costs for U.S., non-resident
- Program participation requires an invitation to and award from the Cincinnatus Scholarship Program (www.financialaid.uc.edu/cincinnatus.html)
- Cincinnatus funds at all levels as well as the Out-of-State supplement go toward meeting the NESP assurance
- Annual award refers to an amount for 3 in-class quarters. To ensure funding through a full undergraduate program, students will receive one-third of the annual amount for each in-class quarter during co-op years
- UC Scholarship Maximum: Students who receive a university scholarship package in excess of the NESP assurance should note that total institutional award funds may not exceed the direct costs of attendance plus the UC-budgeted book allowance
