Admission Requirements

Sixteen units of high school include:

  • English (4 units)
  • Mathematics with algebra, geometry, and either pre-calculus or calculus (4 units total)
  • Chemistry (1 unit)
  • Physics (1 unit)
Engineering Research Center

Admission is based on class rank and ACT/SAT scores. Either ACT or SAT is acceptable. Writing portion is required but not used for the admission decision.

Average Test Scores:
26          ACT
1230      SAT

Admissions Time Line

Junior Year in High School: Take ACT and SAT. Either test is acceptable. It is recommended you take each twice for the best score (for admission and also scholarship opportunity). UC requires the writing portion of both tests, but the College of Engineering will be evaluating your math and verbal portion only.

Senior Year, September-October: Apply (on-line preferred) at the following link: http://www.admissions.uc.edu/. Send high school transcripts and test scores to:

After admissions file is complete, you should receive a decision letter in the mail within 2-3 weeks. (Note: Some programs may take longer such as our Biomedical Dual Admission Program and our ACCEND accelerated programs.)

Important Deadline: Admissions file must be complete by December 15th scholarship consideration.
