Moving


Some General Information -

When the Construction Management Department is funding a move in conjunction with either a major renovation project or a new construction project, the following items apply:


The moving budget will pay for:

  •       Hiring a commercial mover to move your things.
  •       Providing moving supplies, boxes, tape, stickers, etc.
  •       Planning the move with you.
  •       Coordination and supervision of the actual move.
  •       Expense to relocate existing phones at existing level of service.

The move budget will NOT pay for:

  •       Expense to disconnect or hook up computers.
  •       Insurance (other than what is provided by the moving company).

Your departmental responsibilities are:

  •       To pack the boxes
  •       Tag all boxes and furniture with new room number.
  •       Be sure that everything will fit into the new space.
  •       Decide where you want all of your furniture before move day.
  •       Draw a free hand room layout to be posted at the destination room on move day.
  •       Throw away any unneeded items before the move.
  •       Have knowledgeable people at origin and destination on move day.
  •       Move any small delicate items yourself (plants, framed photos)
