Goals of Secondary Teachers, Students, and Schools
Relating to the secondary teachers, students, and schools, the objectives are to:
Increase student learning and interest in science and mathematics.
Use hierarchical learning model to connect concepts in curriculum.
Deliver hands-on inquiry activities in 9-12 grade science and math curricula.
Connect city problems with student learning to contextualize STEM education.
Integrate authentic STEM learning across grade levels, courses, and schools.
Incorporate hands-on examples of technology in teaching activities.
Incorporate computer-based learning in teaching activities.
Enable teacher use of multimedia/web resources for course design/delivery.
Create a scalable network of partners.
Enable STEM teachers to share research skills with classrooms and colleagues.
Implement changes in high schools and the community to sustain the program.
