- November 18, 2008: SUE sponsors the first annual Celebrating Sustainability conference held all day in 427 ERC.
- October 30, 2008: PACES sponsors a discussion of Nuclear Power as part of its Climate 101 Lecture Series.
- August, 2008: SUE researchers report that many U.S. schools are in "air pollution danger zones" due to their proximity to traffic.
- June, 2008: SUE forms a new Minor in Sustainability to be housed administratively in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. This Minor is open to all students at UC - no prerequisites are required - so if you have an interest in learning about sustainability, please look at the Minor in SUE at UC
- June 26, 2008: UC E-currents describes, "Getting Off the Grid and Unpacking the Jargon about Sustaining the Urban Environment"
- May 28, 2008: Members of the SUE Team are one of a half dozen groups invited to participate in the UC Mini-Showcase event at the Statehouse in Columbus, OH
- May 9, 2008: SUE announces the winners of the 2008/9 Seed Grant Competition
- April 28, 2008: City of Cincinnati's Climate Protection Steering Committee endorses Cincinnati's Climate Protection Action Plan
- April 24, 2008: Ryan Rosenweig and Sean Lee win office as the President and Vice-President of the University of Cincinnati student government. Their platform, "Slate 61", included a plank to being the base for a student-led sustainability initiative at UC.
- April 1, 2008: Cincinnati Enquirer ran an interesting article to help Cincinnati-locals go green through their choice of produce. Check out Going green one bite at a time for more details.
- February, 2008: Science Magazine releases a special issue dedicated to cities. Read more about it
- February 18, 2008: SUE releases the Request for Proposals for the 2008/9 Seed Grant Competition. Electronic submissions are due to sue@uc.edu by March 17, 2008. RFP
- February 15, 2008: NAE identifies "restoring and improving urban infrastructure" as one of fourteen grand challenges for the first half of the 21st century

- December, 2007: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) shares the Nobel Peace Prize with Former US Vice President, Al Gore.
- November 12,2007: NSF-sponsored ASCE workshop report summary identifies Mega-cities and livability as one of three research thrusts for the next decade Full Report
- October 4, 2007: UC participates in Campus Sustainability Day.
- August, 2007: Alan Hecht and William Sanders of the USEPA publish a policy debate essay on the role of the Agency in promoting urban sustainability.
- July 13, 2007: SUE 2007 Seed Grant research kickoff meeting in 427 Engineering Research Center from 10-12noon
