Distinguished Alumni/ae

In 1969, the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering inaugurated the Distinguished Alumni Award Program to honor the achievements of outstanding graduates whose personal stature has reflected an exceptionally large measure of acclaim on our academic departments and the disciplines they represent. The criteria for recognition in the Distinguished Alumni Award have included meritorious activities in professional engineering and the allied fields of science, industry, business, public service and education. The Distinguished Alumni Award plaque is located in the entrance area of Baldwin Hall.

The individual engineering departments bestow the award on their alumni/ae based on meritorious achievement, recognized stature, and conspicuous success in the imaginative blending of engineering education with highly productive endeavors in industry, professional activities, and public service.

The College of Engineering celebrated its annual Distinguished Alumni Award banquet in the Continental Ballroom of the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza on April 26th, 2007. Distinguished alumni recipients are chosen based on their exemplary achievements in engineering, business, public service, education or professional activities. The 2007 recipients included Tim Kinne, BSAE '74, MSME '77; Vic Kulkarni, MSEE '77; Prashant Ranade, MSME '77; D.R. Reddy, PhD AE '83; and Steven Schaefer, BSCE '70.
