The Design of Vesicles
Michael Weaver, Analytical Sciences
Procter&Gamble
Vesicle dispersions are a particularly
interesting form of
surfactant association structures.
Because of their bilayer structure, they have been used as
systems to
mimic biological membrane. They
also
have transport and release properties that have been exploited in
health care
and household care products. This
presentation
will provide an overview of vesicles – how they are made, physical
chemical aspects of their structure, some practical guidance on
creating
dispersions of vesicle and discussion on characterization
techniques.
