The aim of my Masters research was to simulate any desired response at chosen collocated/non-collocated measurement locations on a vehicle, using an iterative, closed loop control algorithm based on a linear estimate of the system. This was successfully carried out at the Structural Dynamics Research Lab (UC-SDRL), under the guidance of Dr. Randall J. Allemang. A brief outline of the work is provided for the interested reader.

The DRVFileCreator GUI creates a standard multichannel RPC III Format drive file for the MTS-320 Road Simulator. This can run as a standalone application or may be invoked through the main Road Simulator program.

The RoadSimulator GUI is a menu driven interface, that handles the following operations:

Project : A standard Matlab .MAT file contains all the Simulation project related data and can be accessed through the Project Menu

System Model development : Calculates the FRF matrix, along with diagnostic properties like input and output auto and cross power spectra, ordinary and multiple coherences

Generate Drive File : Allows selection of desired response time histories/frequency spectra, calculation of initial and corrective drive signals and .DRV file generation. Measured response data can be plotted against the desired response to estimate errors.
