A very good interesting class. Wish that we didn't always rush through everything, but know that there is a lot of material to get through in a short amount of time. Grading was fair and lecture continuted to get better and better as the quarter went on. Feel that there was ample opportunity to improve my grade and I really enjoyed the material and the way it was taught. Having a weekly quiz was less stressful than exam and enjoyed that there were lots of those opprotunities to show knowledge rather than just 2 big exams and a final. Was approachable and nice to talk to. Really enjoyed this overall! |

The professor managed to fit a lot of material into the class. He clearly identified which material was more important to focus on. He offered a lot of supplemental information so that the student could take the initiative to learn more if interested. He was willing to answer questions and was a very fair teacher. |

The professor is a very smart man however, he is also a terrible professor. He would find it hard to explain course material in ways that we could understand, so many times he would simply give up, and tell us we just needed to "figure it out on our own". This was the case for both material given during class, as well as homework assigned. Many times quizzes were completely unrelated to the work assigned and suggested study material, and the class overall was taught at the level which a graduate level course would be taught. This professor should stick to doing research or teaching grad students. |

I would hope that I never have this professor again. He does not communicate well or convey the material clearly to students. When asked questions in class he failed to make a clear understanding of the question and sometimes would not even answer it. I felt as though his quizzes/tests did not cover the material I was told to study. I would not recommend him to teach this course again. |

Very smart teacher just can't relate it to his students and does not have realistic goals or provide material soon enough for students to study i.e. hw answers and reading assignments posted 1 day before quiz when reading assignments were large along with homework and notes. Nice guy but needs to learn how to be more organized and not so scatter brained |

Through the course, Dr. Beaucage adapted to our class and toward the end (the class believes he) was more reasonable in his expectations. There are many things (statistics, programming, probability, etc.) that Dr. Beaucage believes we should know that many of us have never had real exposure to. While I believe the subjects mentioned above are important, they are nowhere to be found in my curriculum nor were they taught in my high school (which arguable was sub-Cincinnati standards). In this case, I wish Dr. Beaucage had been more amenable to giving an overview of these subjects, or at least given outside resources that covered these topics exclusively rather than simply said we should know them and then testing us on them. |

There were too many topics covered in this class. The weekly quizzes were very difficult, and required a lot of study time. What topics to study was often unclear. |

The class seemed a little scattered not entirely planned out. Once I got the hang of how to study and prepare for the class it became very easy to manage. I think some of my peers were more interested in complain about the professor, then taking the time to talk to him about how to prepare better. |

Professor Beaucage would often have quizzes with material not covered in class. However, I believe his grading was relatively fair and he gave us opportunities to improve our grades. |

In the beginning the professor had a lot of expectations of us. we were told constantly that we should already know the stuff he was teaching or we should have learned it in high school or previous classes. There would be weekly half hour quizzes which we were barely prepared for so the averages were low. There would be a lot of topics covered during lecture and about 30 to 50 pages assigned per quiz. I studied for these quizzes like they were exams. A lot of time when questions were asked in class he wouldn't really answer the question he would talk in circles until everyone just stopped listening. The same thing happened when he lectured. He would constantly jump through slides so no one would ever take notes since he never stayed on a slide long enough to write everything down. However, when reviewing for the final there was only 1 question that showed up on the exam that the students weren't prepared for. I wish that this would have happened when preparing for the quizzes. |

At the start of the quarter, the Professor Beaucage had an assumption that we had previous knowledge of the material, or so it seemed anyway. As he and the class became more familiar with one another, the course improved dramatically. The material he covered was very interesting. |

The quizzes we had every week were more like exams with the amount of material that was on them. Some of the questions on the quizzes did not reflect what we actually needed to know. When asked questions he would either say we should have already learned it or that it is too complex. If that is the case why are we taking the class to begin with. |

The class got off to a very rocky start, and I almost dropped but I am glad I did not. I learned an incredible amount about a wide variety of subjects. If this class was not situated in arguably the busiest quarter in the chemE curriculum I would have enjoyed it a lot more. The professor was extremely helpful in his office, and even offered advice beyond the scope of the class. Lectures seemed kind of scatter brained, but they became more and more helpful as the quarter progressed. Overall, this class gave me some practical knowledge that I can apply in my future career. |

Dr. Beaucage is very brilliant, and although his teaching style is quite different for reasons I couldn't really explain, I still learned a lot and thought this class was a very helpful and informative class. |
